Tanalised C.C. Timber

Tanalised timber is pressure treated by an industrial process to provide long term protection against fungal decay and insect attack.

Unlike brush-on products that have to be applied regularly C.C. pressure treated timber needs no further maintenance to top up its preservative properties. As with untreated timber, once installed treated timber may absorb moisture and swell during wet weather, followed by shrinking during hot weather, this shrinking can cause stresses within the timber and may lead to splitting and checking.

The company takes all possible precautions by following best practice recommendations according to the (Hickson Code of Practice COD1), to reduce the risk of splitting and checking, however as timber is a natural product, the company cannot be held responsible for splitting and checking defects that occur in the installation after erection.

Due to rare atmospheric conditions condensation can occur, (moisture rising or penetrating through brickwork) we always advise suitable precautions taken before concrete is poured. Wind driven rain penetrating through exterior cladding could possibly occur during the most severe weather conditions. We strongly recommend 2 coats of watershield (Evostick) or similar to be used when dry, on cladding and brickwork to eliminate the possibility of wind driven rain penetrating the cladding and brickwork. Door movement is solely the responsibility of the customer.
